The Body on canvas. . .

I haven't got the lighting right on this yet for pictures. It's so much deeper and richer on canvas in real paint. The colors and a lot of it changed. I didn't listen to any music when I worked on it, I tried to listen to Him......I'm seeing all kinds of different things in it. It's freaking me out, so I'm meditating on it. . . .
Slept on it last night (well, not literally ON it) and there is still work to do. The real one is more luminous than this depiction. This is way out of my comfort zone. . .when I do murals, or prayer boxes, I know where I am. I've never painted like this before--I'm painting from my spiritual 'gut' and it's a little uncomfortable to put this "out there" but I'm trying to gather you into the process.

The Body

I took this image of leaves in the street and manipu-lated it. This is what came to me. We see the bright and flashy "real" colors of that which is corporeal here on the earth...but we long for the Spiritual realm...we can see the Light and the promise of it..and catch glimpses of it. We try to reach into it and grab hold, but sometimes the "real" world keeps snatching us back. The Body is really that Spirit working within our fleshly selves...that glimpse into joy and happiness that is the true, REAL realm.
I can't decide if I want it positioned this way or flip it lengthwise so the lighter part is top. I started this way because if the lighter part is up, then that makes the Spiritual realm "up there" and although I like that look....this way shows that the Spiritual realm and "our" realm coincide and interact. What do you think?

Sacrifice (first run)

I was wrestling with the "computer generated art vs. painting on canvas" dilemma when I was reading in David Hawkins' Power vs. Force that hand-crafted, hand-painted images calibrate higher (mean more spiritually and are "better") with people than computer-generated images. That kind of told me what I have to do. Get busy. Here, though, is a first run of an image I found on a walk. I took my camera and was coming up with nothing of interest...until I asked God to give me SOMETHING. I looked down and this was some of what I found--I heard, "I laid down My life as a sacrifice."

Repeats...
The last couple of jobs that I'm working on have been "repeats!"
I did another version of the "peeling" paper for the Iron Chinchilla in Keller, TX. The original was on a retail wall; the next was on a trade show set. I'll post that pic soon.
Now, I'm working on another floor of Cross Timbers church in Keller! The huge children's mural has now moved upstairs. I have some added freedom in it, because I can more or less free hand the design since I've done it once. It's about 1800 square feet of mural; multiply that by 3 due to the
